SAFi Thermoplastic valve Actuation, including IBC Valves and Accesories

WHY A PLASTIC VALVE ?SAFI is a specialist in the industrial plastic valves. Complementary to the metallic version, the plastic valve has many advantages that make it the first choice on many different applications. A product of the chemical industry, the main quality of thermoplastics is their excellent resistance to corrosion. Whether a solvent, an acid-base reaction or a redox, the classic thermoplastics in valves have a much superior resistance than metals, including stainless steels. Below are some examples of chemical products that are classically used in our valves :
Sulfuric Acid (concentrated from 0 to 98%)Hydrochloric Acid (concentrated from 0% to saturation)Hydrofluoric AcidSodium HydroxideSodium Hypochlorite (bleach)ECONOMIC
At an equivalent chemical resistance, the plastic valve is much cheaper than its counterpart in metal alloy or coated metal. The plastic valve is 4 to 6 times lighter than its metallic counterpart. This facilitates transport, storage, and installation, reducing logistic costs and accident risks. Contrary to popular belief, the thermoplastic materials used in valves have a better resistance to abrasion than metal valves. PVDF for example has a 5 to 10 times greater resistance than that of SS 304 and 100 times superior to PTFE. WHEN TO CONSIDER PLASTIC VALVES ? All the valves are limited by the mechanical and thermal performance of their materials. It is the same case for plastic valves. The mechanical or thermal resistance depends on the nature of the process and the type of valve. Click here for a quick overview.
Whether the personalization of an existing valve or the complete development of a new product, SAFI puts at your service a methodology proven by 50 years of experience in valves.
Through the expertise of our R&D department, you obtain a solution tailored to your specific needs and the assurance of a support before, during and after the installation of the product. The various constraints of industrial processes could have an impact on the valves : Size, engine standardization, protection of operators, type of connections, etc. We believe that adapting our products to your constraints is an essential part of our job. With a unique know-how that is well known in the market, SAFI is one of the few plastic valves manufacturers to offer its expertise in the design and production of valves completely tailor-made.
Our services go from the establishment of the technical and industrial specifications until the production of the valves, each project being personalized according to the requirements of our client.
This way we can assist you in the different phases of your projects in order to optimize your processes and contribute to the improvement of your performance. Implementing our expertise in plastic valves, our capacities in design, simulations, and trials, and our production tools, we produce every year thousands of tailor-made valves designed for the applications of our clients.
Our methodology enriched by more than 50 years of experience and an integral part of our ISO processes allows our customers to control at every moment the progress of the project and to participate in major decisions.
HERE ARE THE KEY MOMENTS IN THE HISTORY OF SAFI :1954 : The Italian chemist Giulio Natta and the German chemist Karl Ziegle discover polypropylene.1955 : Jacques Moison invents the first washing machine and laundry spinner that does not need to be fixed to the floor. To reduce the weight of his machine, he introduces new materials and notably creates a small plastic valve.1963 : Jacques Moison, then director of a company in the packaging industry, resigns to create the Société Anonyme de Fabrications Industrielles. He establishes in the small village of Taulignan (Drôme). His idea: use the properties of the implementation and resistance to corrosion of plastics in the world of valves which at the time was almost exclusively metallic.60s : SAFI manufactures numerous valves for different applications. Its main market was for the oil tanks used in the domestic heating. The company also develops in the subcontracting of plastic parts for many industries. 70s : SAFI develops valves for manufacturers of agricultural sprayers previously only composed of metal valves.1974 : Creation of a subsidiary in England.1979 : Creation of a subsidiary in Germany.80s : SAFI abandons the injection subcontracting to focus on plastic valves. The company develops in the chemical industry.1985 : Creation of a subsidiary in Spain.March 2005 : Takeover of SAFI by Stephane Moison, son of the founder.August 2005 : Death of Jacques Moison.2009 : Creation of a subsidiary in Chile.2012 : Entrance of the investment fund CAPITEM Partenaires, as a minority shareholder of SAFI, in order to help the company accelerate its development.2015 : Creation of an internal laboratory for research and testing.2018 : Creation of a subsidiary in Peru.

  • Mobile, AL - MVF Process Controls was formed in January 2000 as a full service distributor of instrumentation tube fittings and process control products. Along with their associates, MVF Process Controls brings over 100 years of experience in small bore fluid system design, sales, and service. Our roots were established in Mobile, Alabama as Mobile Valve and Fitting since 1970. Many of you are aware of the reputation we built over 30 years as your local Swagelok distributor. Through the years we gained a great deal of knowledge, experience, and the ability to recognize quality…so when the opportunity came to switch to Hy-Lok we seized it. We can save your facility 25% or more verses Swagelok fittings and Parker CPI/A-lok fittings. Hy-Lok is the third largest instrumentation tubing fitting and valve manufacturer in the world. Interchangeable and Intermixable with both Swagelok and Parker. ASTM F-1387-2012 tested. Approved with GE, Siemens, Chevron and many, many others. MVF Process Controls is the Flagship and 1st US Stocking distributor of Hy-Lok Instrumentation Products. Hy-Lok is the third largest instrumentation manufacturer in the world, and is specified in almost every industry sector that use fittings or instrument valves of any type. With the very best quality available today, we can help with systems integration, take-offs and project specifications. MVF Process Controls has continued to grow by succeeding in our mission to: Do the right thing, Do our best, and Always care. We invite you to give us a call or email to discuss our history, where we are heading in the future, and how we can help reduce your cost. Our tube fittings deliver a leak-tight, gas-tight seal that is resistant to vibration fatigue, even in harsh environments or stressful applications. They withstand high pressures and temperature extremes and are easy to install, disassemble, and reassemble in a variety of situations. Our tube fittings can be used on thick- or thin-walled, hard or soft tubing and resist the effects of pressure and thermal cycling.
