Lube (Turbine) Oil Filtration Systems

This type of filtration system keeps turbine bearings and hydraulic systems clean by removing water, particulates, varnish, and gaseous contaminants that accelerate wear or damage.

Key Features

Stress-Resistant Media: Lube oil filtration systems feature stress-resistant media with β ≥ 2000 efficiency, low pressure drop, and anti-static properties to prevent varnish formation and extend service life.

Varnish Removal Units: These standalone fluid conditioning systems clear varnish deposits from turbine oil, restoring clean and efficient operation.

Bypass Filtration: An oil polishing mechanism to improve cleanliness beyond new oil, reduce water content, maintain viscosity, and protect high-precision valves.

Liquid Fuel and Fuel Oil Filtration: Delivers clean fuel that reduces contamination-related wear in pumps and engines and ensures reliable combustion.

Multi-Stage Filtering: Comprehensive systems that include pump-protection screens, automatic fine filters, preheating/viscosity control, and final duplex filters for thorough cleanliness.

Precise Filtration: Lube oil filtration systems lower operating costs by reducing engine failure risks and improving component lifespan.

Inlet Air / GT Inlet Air

  • The GT series “pre-filter” models (like Multi-Pleat GT) have a moderate efficiency (MERV 8) and are intended to protect final filters rather than act as ultra-high efficiency final filters. kochfilter.com+1

  • Proper sizing, installation, and matching of filter media to the actual environment (dust load, humidity, corrosives) is critical — the real benefit comes when the filter system is optimized. Koch offers site surveys and lifecycle analysis services.

  • In extremely contaminated or very high performance turbine inlet systems, you may need the higher efficiency “barrier filter” or cartridge type rather than just the GT pleated panel.

  • Designed specifically for gas turbine air-intake or high velocity air-intake applications (e.g., pre-filters for gas turbines and compressors). kochfilter.com+2

  • Low resistance to airflow (“low pressure drop”) meaning less restriction of air going into the turbine/intake system. kochfilter.com+1

  • Durable construction suited for harsh environments (high humidity, salt spray, desert dust, high velocity air) — Koch positions these filters for use “from hot and gritty desert environments to salty coastal locations to icy arctic applications”.

  • Available in a range of configurations/media: synthetic media pleated panel pre-filters (e.g., Multi-Pleat GT) and high efficiency barrier filters for more extreme conditions.

  • For the Multi-Pleat GT model: MERV 8 (in accordance with ASHRAE 52.2) for the standard pleated panel version. kochfilter.com

  • Initial pressure drop of less than 0.25″ W.G. for the Multi-Pleat GT in some sizes. kochfilter.com

  • For higher-efficiency models in the gas turbine inlet line (not just the GT pre-filter version) Koch offers ASHRAE efficiencies of 65%, 75%, 85%, 95% with MERV ratings 11-16.

  • When used as a pre-filter ahead of more expensive final filters (in turbine intakes), the GT series helps extend the life of those final filters. kochfilter.com+1

  • Because of the lower resistance to airflow and robust design, these filters can lead to energy savings (less fan power needed) and reduced maintenance/shutdowns.

    • Example: Koch performed a project where replacing older pre-filters with theirs resulted in ~$156,000 annual energy savings.

  • Suitable for retrofits or replacement in gas turbine inlet housings / compressor air intakes / high velocity intake systems.

Liquid Process and Fuels

FAA Filters, Refilco, and Sefiso provide a comprehensive range of industrial liquid filtration products—including pleated cellulose and synthetic media cartridges, coalescers, and filter vessels—designed for fuels, lubricants, hydraulics, and chemical fluids. Refilco focuses on high-efficiency cartridge elements (0.5–40 µm), FAA Filters supplies complete systems and housings, and Sefiso unifies both under one brand for broad application coverage across oil, gas, and industrial markets.

  • FAA Filters, Refilco, and Sefiso provide liquid filtration systems/cartridges/vessels; often the brand lines overlap/integrate under Sefiso.

  • If you need very fine micron ratings (0.5-1 µm) for critical hydraulic or lubricating fluids, choose Refilco’s “Ultra Protection” line.

  • For general industrial liquid filtration (5-40 µm) Refilco’s “Industrial Grade” line serves well.

  • FAA Filters offers broader system solutions including filter vessels/housings and can handle aggressive applications (fuel, solvents, coolants).

  • Sefiso as the umbrella means simplified sourcing across media types and applications (liquid + fuel + gas + air) which can be beneficial if you have multiple fluid/fuel filtration needs.

  • Important factors in liquid filter selection: micron rating, media type (cellulose vs synthetic), fluid compatibility (oil vs water vs chemical), flow rate, differential pressure drop, vessel/housing design. The specifications provided by these brands reflect these considerations.

  • Because these are industrial‐grade filtration systems, attention to installation, change-out interval, operating conditions (temperature, fluid type, contaminants) is critical for reliable performance.

  • Refilco is a brand (under the same umbrella) targeting industrial liquid filtration—especially for hydrocarbon, lube & hydraulic fluids.

  • The “PL Series” Refilco cartridges: multi‐layer pleated construction; micron ratings available ½ µm up to 40 µm nominal. sefiso.com+1

  • Sub-categories:

    • “Ultra Protection” (½ & 1 µm nominal) for critical fluids: insulating oils, servo valves, high pressure hydraulics.

    • “Critical Service” (1-3 µm nominal) for seal oil, gear oil, fuel injection, final filtration. JM ELS Sales

    • “Industrial Grade” (5-40 µm nominal) for lubricating oil, cutting fluid, fuel oil, low pressure hydraulics.

  • The “PLH Series” by Refilco: synthetic media cartridges (microglass + polyester pleated foil backing) designed for mineral oils, synthetic fluids, water-based fluids and chemicals. sefiso.com

    • Features: higher flow rates, long‐term resistance to water deterioration, wide chemical compatibility, high dirt holding capacity. sefiso.com

  • Correct sizing, media selection and housing compatibility stressed for optimum performance.

Mechline or Magnaline Pumps

We have a full range of positive displacement and triple screw pumps that exceed the qualities of market leading products.

The mechanical sealed pumps are financially more economical, due to the shaft seal design. The main difference of the mechanically sealed pump is it’s designation of high or low temperature, with the pump designed to be coupled directly to an electric motor of flange type and, also with options of a pressure relief valve.

Magnaline pumps are magnetically sealed and completely leak free, requiring very low maintenance. As these type of pumps contain no seals, they are very reliable, and entail very low maintenance plans keeping costs to a minimum. Installation is also very easy, as there is no need for alignment of motor/pump.
